Meet The Team - Jane Christie
Next up in our meet the team is our Marketing Specialist Jane Christie. Let's hear what she has to say about her time at IT Hotdesk and what she most enjoys about her job.
How long have you been part of the ITHD team?
I began working for IT Hotdesk in 2017. I joined the company on a part time basis to support the sales, business development and marketing function. My two years have flown by as every day is different and time flies when you are having fun.
When you were 5 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
As a child, I loved animals and always saw myself becoming a vet. However, the thought of seeing animals in pain and suffering would not have been for me.
What do you most enjoy about the work you do?
I think I am a creative person so getting the opportunity to support the marketing function allows me to develop original ideas to help elevate IT Hotdesk’s profile and brand. Recently, I have been working closely with our marketing consultant on content for social media including blogs and newsletters which I’ve really enjoyed as not only am I honing new skills, but I am engaging with new people which brings fresh perspective to the business.
How do you define success?
Success is different for everybody and I’m not one for financial success. The important thing in life for me is my family and I being happy and healthy. Without health and happiness, money is not success.
How do you think your colleagues see you?
That’s a difficult one! I would like to think my colleagues see me as a team player. I always try to be friendly and helpful, but I am also willing to roll my sleeves up and tackle what is required to get the job done efficiently and effectively.
Who inspires you?
Real inspiration for me is seeing someone who has built something from nothing. I feel real admiration for anyone who through hard work and determination, make something a success. My brother Gordon Christie, the Managing Director of IT Hotdesk springs to my mind when I think of someone inspirational. Not only has Gordon grown a successful company, but he has juggled family life and personal commitments over the years having a lot to be proud of.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Like most people, I love to spend quality time with my family and friends. My three-year old daughter Lily keeps me busy when I’m not working and in the nicer weather, we visit local parks and meet up with friends and family for coffee and cake!
I also spend a lot of time at the gym and like to keep fit. To relax, I enjoy chilling out on the sofa with a good boxset!
What is your favourite life quote?
Life is short, live it.
Love is rare, grab it.
Anger is bad, dump it.
Memories are sweet, cherish them.
